THIN CELL®

Power next-gen devices with cells as thin as 1.1mm

  • Efficiently packaged in a pouch cell format, ULTRALIFE’s 3.0V Thin Cells® are available in more than eight pre-engineered, compact sizes.
  • This small size does not compromise on performance, as Thin Cells® have an energy density of around 500Wh/l and 400Wh/Kg compared to just 300Wh/l and 260Wh/kg for the best lithium coin cells.
  • The use of low resistance current collectors allows ULTRALIFE Thin Cells® to outperform coin cells at higher discharge rates – the ideal solution for applications that require high bursts of energy such as those with RF transmitters.
  • All cells have an operating temperature range between -20°C and +60°C, meaning that they can function in low temperatures when other batteries would freeze.
  • All Thin Cells® are certified to UL 1642 for safety and UN 38.3 for transportation. Some are also certified to IEC 60086-4 for safety (see technical datasheets).
  • To maximize safety, cells do not expand or swell during storage or use.
  • In addition to off-the-shelf standard cell models, ULTRALIFE can specially manufacture Thin Cells® in unique sizes to suit specific customer requirements. Use our Thin Cell Calculator to enter your custom cell dimensions and see the estimated capacity, max. continuous discharge and max. pulse discharge.

9 VOLT

The world’s longest lasting Lithium 9 Volt – over 100 million sold worldwide

  • Whilst the competition offers lithium 9V products that boast 800mAh of capacity, ULTRALIFE’s battery offers 1200mAh or 50% more energy than the nearest brand name competitor.
  • Extremely lightweight, ULTRALIFE’s lithium 9V weighs 37g, approx. 18% less than the average alkaline 9V.
  • ULTRALIFE’s 9V also has a low internal impedance, increasing the ability for the battery to supply higher power output with a stable voltage.  It also has very little magnetic signature.
  • ULTRALIFE’s 9 Volt is comprised of three Thin Cells®, so has the same operating temperature range of -20°C to +60°C.
  • ULTRALIFE has certified the 9 Volt to international safety standards, including UL 2054 and IEC 60086-4:2014, plus UL 217 for smoke alarms (a widely used application).
  • It is also certified to UN 38.3 transportation standards.
  • To make ULTRALIFE’s battery a drop-in replacement for alkaline 9 Volts, it meets ANSI Alkaline 1604 size specifications.

CR CYLINDRICAL

As electronics advance and become more efficient, many devices are switching to 3V

  • ULTRALIFE’s cylindrical shaped non-rechargeable 3.0V Lithium Manganese Dioxide (LiMnO2) cells offer excellent temperature characteristics, a flat discharge curve, and a hermetically sealed nickel plated steel container for long term shelf life.
  • These attributes make it perfect for applications where high currents are required after long periods of inactivity.
  • A diverse range of around thirty batteries, energy ratings range from 2.3 to 39.0Wh.
  • The majority of cells have an operating temperature range of -40°C to +72°C.
  • CR123A cells are certified to UL 1642 (safety) and UN 38.3 (transportation) standards.
  • Many other cells are UL component recognized.
  • When it comes to protection, some cells contain a Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) safety device to limit current during short circuit conditions.
  • For bespoke applications with higher voltage or capacity needs, our engineers can integrate ULTRALIFE’s CR Cylindrical cells into battery packs (contact us for details).

ER CYLINDRICAL

Up to 30% more capacity performance (avg. across temperatures vs. competition)

  • If high capacity is essential, choose our ER Legacy cells. For better horizontal discharge performance and cell-to-cell consistency, ER Generation X cells offer industry leading characteristics.
  • Choose between high rate cells that offer high continuous/pulse current Amp load capability at lower Ah capacity or low rate cells that offer higher Amp hour capacity but lower Amp current rating.
  • Differing cell sizes and rates meet many application needs.
  • ULTRALIFE’s ER Generation X* family of Lithium Thionyl Chloride cells offer a high energy density of more than 400 Whr/Kg.
  • ER Cylindrical cells have a wide operating temperature range of -55°C to +85°C.
  • Some cells are certified to UL 1642 and UN 38.3 transportation standards.
  • Cells are technician-replaceable.
  • All cells have a non-flammable electrolyte, providing safer operation in case of abuse.
  • Some cells are fitted with a PTC anti-short-circuit device for added safety.
  • For bespoke applications with higher voltage or capacity needs, our engineers can integrate ULTRALIFE’s ER Cylindrical cells into battery packs (contact us for details).
