Ultralife designs and manufactures complex battery and power systems for applications where commercially available solutions are insufficient and where safety, reliability and performance are non-negotiable. It supports projects from early-stage development to long-term field deployment, including design optimization, system integration, cost reduction, supply chain scaling and lifecycle support.
“Following our acquisition of Southwest Electronic Energy in 2019, Excell Battery in 2021 and Electrochem Solutions in 2024, OTC 2026 presents a great opportunity to showcase Ultralife’s oil and gas and subsea power capabilities” explained Scott Nitti, who oversees Ultralife’s oil and gas portable power portfolio. “The exhibition will highlight our engineering support beyond the battery itself. This includes everything from the engineering and integration to the long-term lifecycle support needed in these critical applications.”
“Each acquisition expanded our product offering for this market substantially. Bringing everything together in the same exhibition for the first time means visitors can experience a vast range of power solutions designed for some of the most demanding offshore applications.”
At OTC 2026, Ultralife will showcase a range of battery technologies and monitoring solutions designed for harsh operating conditions, including SeaSafe® Direct batteries that are pressure tolerant to depths of 6,000m, as well as the SeaSafe® Endurance 1ATM battery that will be showcased by Prevco Subsea Housings in one of its pressure vessels.

The Ultralife booth will also feature the Criterion 5 battery gauge, suitable for use with non-rechargeable oil and gas battery packs. The system monitors key performance data such as voltage, current, shock, vibration and rotation. Ultralife will also be showcasing the new Criterion Compact Field Reader, which allows users to quickly check battery life without a computer.
Ultralife will also highlight its non-rechargeable cells, including its newly added Electrochem brand, which are produced in-house at the company’s manufacturing facilities in the USA and China. Ultralife can manufacture cells from the ground up, including electrolyte mixing and cathode production from raw material, while its scientists and R&D teams continue to test and develop new chemistries and designs to meet evolving requirements.

Cells are available in multiple chemistries, including lithium thionyl chloride, lithium sulfuryl chloride and lithium bromine chloride. Available in various sizes, from sub AA to DD and TSD, and constructions that support low-rate applications such as memory, moderate-rate applications such as downhole tools and high-rate uses including pipeline inspection and seismic operations.
Visitors can also see battery packs that Ultralife has built from these cells, which are suitable for extreme environments, operating from -30 degrees Celsius and below up to downhole environments of 200+ degrees Celsius, while withstanding high pressure, shock, vibration and corrosive conditions. Additional applications include Measurement/Logging While Drilling (LWD/MWD) tools and pipeline inspection.
